Knowing God by Name
Knowing God by name is not about memorizing titles.
It is about encounter.
In Scripture, the names of God reveal who He is and how He makes Himself known in specific moments.
You don’t just say, “God is good.”
You come to know Him as:
Jehovah Jireh when He provides
Jehovah Rapha when He heals
Jehovah Shalom when He becomes peace in chaos
El Roi when He sees you when others don’t
El Shaddai when He proves Himself sufficient
That is the difference between hearing about God and knowing Him.
Discover how God reveals Himself—name by name.
Who God is at His core, unchanging and eternal
How God reveals Himself in your life and situations
Most people want God to change their situation…
but God often uses the situation to reveal who He is.
You don’t learn:
Jehovah Jireh in abundance
El Roi when everything feels seen
Jehovah Rapha when nothing is broken
You come to know Him in the tension.

Why Names Matter in Scripture
In Scripture, names are not just labels—they carry identity, authority, and meaning.
When God reveals a name, He is not introducing Himself—
He is revealing how He moves and who He is in a specific moment.
In Exodus 3:14, when Moses asked God what name he should give the Israelites, God answered:
“I AM THAT I AM.”
God did not define Himself by limitation.
He revealed Himself as eternal, self-existent, and unchanging.
He is not becoming.
He simply is.
That means whatever you need—
in provision, healing, peace, or direction—
He already is.
The Names of God Reveal His Heart
Each name of God was revealed in a moment.
Not in comfort—
but in real situations, real tension, and real need.
God revealed Himself as:
Provider in lack
Healer in brokenness
Peace in chaos
Presence in isolation
This means something important:
👉 God does not wait for perfect conditions to reveal Himself.
He reveals Himself in the places you feel the most uncertain.
Where Do You Need to Know Him?
Take a moment and be honest with yourself.
Where are you struggling right now?
Lack
Confusion
Anxiety
Feeling unseen
Delay
The place you’re struggling in
is often the place where God wants to reveal His name to you.
Prayer:
God, reveal Yourself to me as ______ in this area of my life.
Help me to see You clearly, trust You fully,
and align with Your truth.
