Day 2: The Hidden Filters That Shape Your Thinking
Have you ever noticed that two people can hear the exact same words...and interpret them completely differently?
One hears correction.
The other hears rejection.
One sees an opportunity.
Another only sees the possibility of failure.
Why?
Because we don't just see life.
We see life through filters.
And many of those filters were formed long before today.
Maybe your filter is fear.
Fear tells you to expect the worst before anything has even happened.
Maybe it's rejection.
So when someone doesn't text you back, you immediately assume you've done something wrong.
Maybe it's past pain.
Someone disappoints you, and suddenly you're reliving a hurt that happened years ago.
Or maybe it's pride.
You become so convinced that your perspective is right that you stop asking God if you're seeing the situation correctly.
Here's the truth:
Not every thought you have is true.
Not every feeling reflects reality.
And not every assumption deserves your agreement.
That's why Proverbs tells us to guard our hearts.
And that's why Romans 12 tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
God isn't just interested in changing your circumstances.
He wants to heal the lens through which you see them.
So today, pause before you react.
Ask yourself:
"Is this what actually happened...or is this what my filter is telling me happened?"
Because healing begins when we allow God to reveal the filters that have been shaping our thinking all along.
Renew your mind.
See clearly.
Live differently.
